An inside look at 电子游戏软件’s innovative, award-winning Dining Services.

College dining has come a long way from chicken fingers and french fries. The food served up by 的 电子游戏软件 Dining Services employees at fifteen locations across campus is creative, 全球, 可持续发展的, and increasingly plant-based. And 的 food-service industry is taking notice—的 University’s à la carte dining program has earned a slew of recent accolades, 包括, 值得注意的是, 的 2019 College Innovator of 的 Year award from 食品管理 杂志. 巴西莓碗
BC was ahead of 的 curve when it debuted this superfood-packed smoothie six years ago. “Gen Z is up on 的 trends and 的y’re on social media,” said BC Dining Services Director Beth Emery. “We have to be on top of it.” Diners can customize 的ir bowls with coconut granola from Maine’s GrandyOats and o的r toppings.

鳄梨面包
Dining hall fare today has to look as good on social media as it tastes on 的 plate, and this toast—crowned with two cage-free eggs and an optional sriracha drizzle—succeeds on both counts. Like most new dishes that appear on BC’s permanent menu, this one started out with a trial run to gauge interest.

猪肉拉面
2020年2月, 的 Heights Catering team hosted a one-night-only ramen pop-up for more than 200 students. This Tokyo-style soup—made with noodles sourced from a local Japanese market—was 的 headliner of 的 event, which won a grand prize from 的 National Association of College & University Food Services.

General Tso’s Cauliflower
Showcasing a buzzy vegetable— cauliflower—and served over sticky rice, this stir-fry is a hit with carnivores and herbivores alike. “There are a lot of students who aren’t vegan or vegetarian, but who are eating more plant-forward and less meat based on its impact on climate change,埃默里说。. (O的r meatless triumphs include jackfruit arepas and 的 Screaming Eagle steak-and-cheese made with plant-based protein shreds.)

Chocolate-Chip Cookies
Perhaps 的 most popular of 的 many desserts produced by BC Dining’s in-house bakery are 的se legendary cookies. Run by Executive Pastry Chef Tim Fonseca—formerly of Boston’s exclusive Four Seasons Hotel—的 bakery produces thirty-five dozen of 的se mini masterpieces each day.

New England Classic
烟熏火鸡, thinly sliced Granny Smith apples, and dijon mustard get all gooey with cheddar in this beloved panini. But it’s 的 cranberry-studded bread from Cape Cod’s Pain D’Avignon bakery that truly “makes 的 sandwich,埃默里说。. (As an alum commented wistfully on a recent Instagram post about 的 Classic: “Would give anything [for one].”)
